Voter perplexed that Israel still exists after Green council win

A voter has expressed their confusion that Israel still exists after her vote for the Green Party in her council election on May 7th 2026.

23-year old gender studies student, Perpetua Indignatia, was convinced that voting Green in Goose Green, East Dulwich, would lead to an immediate end to fighting in the Middle-East, a full withdrawal of Israeli forces and the collapse of the entire Israeli state.

However, 24 hours after the result, she is disappointed to learn that her vote had no impact on the Middle-East at all.

Nor indeed anything else.

A disgruntled Perpetua told the OMS:

"I saw the slogan 'Go Green Goose Green', and logically assumed this would end Israeli settler colonialism. Combined with Zack Polanski's good looks and professional accomplishments, I was determined to vote Green".

Perpetua had been eagerly telling her friends of her decision, and had been active on Instagram, TokTik and BlueSky encouraging others to join her. But since the election, she has grown despondent.

"Apparently the election only affected bin collection in our area. I feel like my voice has not been heard, and local democracy is just a sham"

"I blame Keir Starmer".
