Following the cancellation of “Star Trek: Academy” amid criticism of its ‘woke’ storylines and unrelatable characters, the owners of the Star Trek franchise have announced a new Star Trek, the 13th edition of the franchise.

Star Trek: Pride” will commence as a Netflix mini-series in summer 2026, launching on Sunday, June 28th, 2026, to coincide with the main International LGBTQ+ Pride Day. The new series, developed in secret, is described by executives as a bold and necessary reinvention of the franchise for modern audiences.

Based on the thought-provoking concept of ‘The Rocky Horror Show in space’, Star Trek: Pride is set in the 24th century and is based on a new starship, the USS Intercourse, whose provocative design has already been the subject of online controversy.

Set in a world finally sexually liberated from conservative traditions and binary distinctions, the USS Intercourse has a five-year mission to penetrate the galaxy. The crew will be led by the flamboyant and outrageous Captain Kink, ably supported by burly macho man Commander Biker.

According to a studio executive:

“The relationship between Kink and Biker is at the heart of the show. They are both leading men who both love and hate each other, and we see this as an erotic twist on the Kirk-Spock relationship in the original series”.

Captain Kink is committed to dismantling traditional command hierarchies in favour of a more fluid, responsive approach to authority. His individuality and disregard for Star Trek conventions is shown by his refusal to wear trousers. Commander Biker on the other hand is a bearded alpha male whose leadership style is firm but lacks subtlety.

Third in command is an advanced artificial intelligence companion unit, an evolution of the Next Generation character Data. The latest 'Data' was developed in a laboratory in Transylvania by Star Command scientist Dr Frank N Furter to become the perfect male specimen, with advanced lovemaking techniques. As chief pilot, Data will also be responsible for maintaining time warp speed.

A Scottish engineer ‘Slutty’ will run the engine room, where she will exploit her knowledge of pipes to keep blood flowing throughout the Intercourse. As in the original series, Slutty will be responsible for beaming up the other crew members. Due to upgrades to transporter technology she will be able to beam them up and down, however frantically or gently they would like her to go. Her flexibility and grasp of physics allow her to also beam sideways, as well as reverse beam or even beam whilst hanging upside down.

In her transporter room, the male crew members will boldly go where quite a lot of men have gone before.

The ship’s medical team includes Chief Medical Officer Dr. Crushonher, whose thorough and intimate bedside manner has helped resolve many groin injuries. She will work alongside the enigmatic Dr. Notcoy, universally known as “Boner” due to his medical expertise in bones.

Completing the core crew is a sexy cyborg designated “Seven out of Nine”. Disliked by female crew members, her integration into human social dynamics is a recurring focus of the series, as Captain Kink and Commander Biker compete to guide her development.

In addition to the usual alien races such as the Klingons and Vulcans, the series introduces a deeply sexy race of aliens known as the Cardashians. With their noticeably curvy figures, black hair and limited sexual morals, the Cardashians arise fascination amongst the crew of the Intercourse. Several episodes will be set at the Cardashian home planet, a remarkably well-lit environment optimised for visual display.

The producers have described the show as “a vibrant, boundary-defying reimagining of Gene Roddenberry’s vision for a fully liberated future.” According to show writers, the series will explore the "full diversity" of the galaxy, venturing into black holes, wormholes, and “a number of previously undiscovered holes,” ensuring that no frontier remains unexplored.

Netflix executives have confirmed the show tested extremely well with focus groups who had not previously watched Star Trek.
